That's the title of my third work for Marvel Comics. It's not the usual X-Men, but it haves lots of things going Ka-BOoom!, lots of cleavage and lots of people running in funny clothes, see you there!

Right folks!, I'm doing 10 more pages of X-Men, again in a shared issue with Jefte Palo. First issue, the #40 is about to be released now, and next one shouldn't be too far away either. If you read them, tell me what do you think about them!

I signed 2 days ago a work-for-hire contract with the big M, and I will be doing 5 pages, pencil and ink, for X-Men #40. Hopefully this will be the first of more, but so far is just what it is. And I am already drawing and enjoying it.

Twenty-six years ago, after read and re-read all the comic-books my grandpas bought me, I saw one in a store that had the next chapter of the story. It was The Mighty Thor #359, by Walter Simonson and the book in the store had what we call in Spain "retapados", a big book with the 2 previous comics and the 2 after. It had battles of gods, deadly fights, deaths, undead, firearms, and gods kissing female feets. IT HAD IT ALL. Twenty-six years later I send my first penciled page to that same company. Not sure if they will hire me again, hopefully yes, who knows, but still, I've just fulfill a dream of childhood. And that in the same year I've visited San Diego Comic-Con. If I could just remember how i asked my wish in the last New years eve, I could do it again, damn!

Also, my experience here in Deviantart has been important, so thank you for watching me, this is just the beginning!

hello there, erm...uh...Hi! How long it's been? some months. I was in SDCC, it was quite incredible, but at my arrival here in Spain, things went not so great.
I'm not one of those who tells his life problems as excuse (well, ok, sometimes, shut up). But after coming back I had to deal with proffesional issues (closing my studio) and personal ones. After that, some crap jobs had my attention and I had to stop updating my webs.

Anyway, I finished things, redone a workspace, finished a delayed worktest of Secret Avengers (check it here!), and even managed to make a scheme of how my webs work and what to do with them.

Main decision here is to stop updating my old blog, and using this platform as main feeder for my web www.mogorron.es

Tumblr as a mix between my own jobs and artwork from other artists I love (and funny things, or whatever makes me smile or draw) That is mandril.tumblr.com (feel free to give me your own tumblr webs too).

In Twitter I will stay more active than anywere else, but mainly saying silly things in spanish, so maybe not your thing. If you're curious, that's @mogorron

Instagram is a fast image feeder for Tumblr, Facebook and Tweeter, but not for complete art, like here or tumblr. anyway my user there is also Mogorron

Hello all. It's been some time since my last update, well, I was busy. I needed months to finish the comic book I had to made with Lerner Group, but at the end I got the speed I needed. Hola a todos. Hace un tiempo que no actualizaba, pero eh, estaba liado. He necesitado unos meses para acabar el comic que he hecho con Lerner Group, y menos mal que al final conseguí la velocidad necesaria, pant! Mientras tanto, no hice ningún dibujo que poner aqui, pero eso ha cambiado. Dentro de poco pondré más proyectos, diseños, chicas y dibujos a color. Y nuevas noticias. Gracias por leerme!

I will be next week at the Barcelona comic con, and if you are there, i would be pleased to know you. At friday 15th, 5:00pm i will do a digital color show at the stand of Wacom. Come and check what i will do, or come and do jokes about my hair, whatever. At that same spot there will be other artists doing their show, and some will do an amazing job, don't miss it!

Estaré la semana que viene en el Salón de Barcelona, y si estás alli, pásate el viernes a las 17:00 por el stand de wacom para verme sudar haciendo un show de coloreado digital, y bromas crueles sobre mi público, o lo que sea. En el mismo puesto pero otros dias habrá shows por dibujantes que lo harán estupendamente, en concreto el jueves, Lidix y miki, que son tremendos.

Well, one of the reasons to keep my deviantart half closed for so many months was that I am trying to build a system that allows me to update my work on several webs and social netsworks without a titanic effort. I built a web in flavors.me/mogorron because I have no idea of web making, and I can link it soon to mogorron.es. There, anyone visiting it can see the updates of my blog, Deviantart and a picasa gallery. Meanwhile I link those to twitter, facebook, myspace, linkedln, tumblr and google buzz by just one program, tweetdeck. Sounds exhausting, right, well, it's easier than it looks. That or I will go crazy, which can be very possible soon.
Also somewhere in my plans is to become premium member of deviantart, but that won't be until next year for sure. While that time comes, I am back.

Today is the night, pals, Lost is finished, will we remain lost or we will know what's all about? who cares, get some dharma beer and stop complaining, this will not be an Angela Channing scene, we won't have all the answers, we don't want them!

Oh, and my second point. Go to the Deviantart page of the very Reverend Johnson
and give him a llama. This is not to be forgot. Dan Panosian could win this llama war and we don't want to know what would happen next, would we?

Well, this week has been the worst one ever planned. A friend came to my town to receive a prize for a film, (This one: [link], and he stayed all week. So my careful plans that are usually lying around until 2-3 days are left and I start to work, didn't worked that good. I found myself stucked between a birthday of my gf, 2 drawings to finish, 3 days of hanging around, and fewer hours of sleep each day.

Jade had to face Strasimira, by , but all 2DF fighters were abducted and plugged into virtual reality machines that made them all impersonate humans and Na'vis in the Pandora world of Avatar. Go to the entry, and check the fight, awesome stuff!..

The time has come for a second match, and Jade had to build herself a fancy car, so she used a Jaguar D-Type of 1955 as base for her 2DF-JadeWagon...just to crash it into debris to hunt her opponent Korekuta by , who haves the ability to open holes into a pocket dimension.

Jade thought of a kamikaze tactic, turning his car into the opposite direction, dodging cars, and finally, aiming for the Korekuta's one. Korekuta, checking his mirrors, thought he had finally freed from Jade's chasing, just to see a crazy green bullet roaring in crash course to him. As jade expected, Korekuta jumps to avid death, and as far from that hell as he cans, so Jade check her sorroundings, and jumps in the very last moment, right into the portal that is being opened, using the strenght of the crash to reach higher and further.
Korekuta's portal opened and let him jump outside it, just to realize that he had avoided death for a few miliseconds.

Well, here we are, deadline and my entry is not in colour. So inks will have to be enough.

As you see, Jade had a hard fight ahead and 2 dangerous opponents. Luckily for her, both are physical fighters, and one had a very strong power that she could use against him. Eric Rivers was able to shatter solids with his scream, and Jade moved the fight to the Brooklyn Bridge, but hey, I'm telling you somthing that the drawing does, go and check!

And of course, check all the battles that will take place in the tournament, so you can vote for the best ones. There are some nasty fighters out there!

Well, not me, I would got beaten, but my fighter Jade. She is already guessing how to deal with the two fighters that will try to rip her clothes and get the round for them, so I will put some links and updates about it soon, it will be nice.

Estaré este sábado pasando un dia divertido (espero), en el salón del comic de Castilla y León, tomandome unas cervezas con unos buenos amigos mios si no nieva, o si el pavo no es zombie. Si estais por alli, y me conoceis, saludad y tomaros algo con nosotros.

I will be this saturday at the Castilla Y leon comic con in Valladolid, drinking some beers with friends if there is no snow in the road, or if the turkey is not zombie. If you are there, and you know me, say hi and come to take a beer with us.

Pues eso, parece que justo en el último momento, con el trabajo ya empezado, personajes aprobados, y mi firma en el contrato, en la editorial Kantik se han hechado atrás porque creen que mi estilo no se ajusta a lo que buscan.

Aunque reconozco que no me ha sentado bien, ahora, con algunas horas de reflexión, creo que todo ha sido fruto de una falta de comunicación. Ellos no han sabido explicarse, y yo no he entendido bien lo que querían. De alguna manera la primera página (la de la anterior entrada), debe estar hecha en un estilo totalmente diferente, aunque yo no lo veo asi. Esta semana voy a quemar mi último cartucho en un intento de volver la situación a su estado original, pero si soy honesto, no tengo muchas esperanzas de conseguirlo. Intentaré explicarles que en la linea de maestros como Bernet, Al Capp, Crumb o Kurtzman (salvando las distancias), yo pretendía dibujar chicas monas, y chicos hechos un desastre. Y que ambas cosas pueden convivir en un mismo estilo cómico. Que no estoy inventando nada, vaya.

Además, qué demonios, me gustan las páginas que he hecho. Podrían estar mejor (mucho mejor!), pero con las prisas que las pedían, y con que algunos chistes al ser traducidos perdian chispa, creo que no me salieron mal.
El ejemplo de lo que la editorial quería, parece ser que es un cómic llamado "les Blondes", de Soleil. Busquen y comparen, yo mejor no opino.

Pd. Parece que las entradas de este blog seguirán sin traducirse al francés.

Well, that's it, looks like in the last moment, with the work already begun, some characters approved, and my signature in the contract, the editor Kantik decided to step back because they believe that my style isn't fitting to what they are looking for.

I recognize that I got the news with some bad temper, but now, after some hours thinking about it, I trully believe that it has been all a lack of communication problem. They gave me not enough information and I was unable to fully understand what they wanted me to do. In some way, looks like the first page (the one of the previous entry), was done in a completelly different style than the next two, but I don't think so. This week I will fire my last bullet trying to reverse the situation for good, but being honest, I dont have much hopes in it. I will try to explain them that my purpose was to follow the line of masters as Bernet, Al Capp, Crumb or Kurtzman (basically) drawing pretty girls and guys with an awful (but funny ) look. Both concepts can live within a same comic style, I'm not making anything new, come on.

Also, what the hell, I'm proud of my pages. They could be better (much better!), but with the hurry they had, and the fact that some jokes lose the punch after translation, I think they look not bad at all.
The example of what the editor wanted is a comic book called "Les Blondes", from Soleil. Look for and compare, I rather not comment.

Ps. looks like the entries of this blog will stay untranslated to french.

That's right! I got my page approved and soon a contract is coming to my home for 3 whole albums done for Kantik editor in France. It will be a hard work in the first of the 3 comic books, because they want it very fast, but I can't wait to see my comic in the shelves of the stores of Europe. The title will be "L'amour.com" and will be stories of one page only.

Correcto! Me aprobaron una página de prueba y pronto llega el contrato a casa para hacer 3 álbumes para la editorial Kantik en Francia. Va a ser un trabajo algo duro en el primer álbum, porque lo quieren con mucha prisa, pero no puedo esperar a ver mi comic en las estanterias de las tiendas de Europa. El título será "L'amour.com" y estará compuesto de chistes de una sola página.

Thats it, im going for just 3 days to the Aviles Comic-Con, and to the hotel where other artists are. Im not officialy invited, but the guy who organizes the event got me those rooms, which is a great gesture. Also we will be in the filming of a new episode of Capitan Galaxia, so all in all,  we will have some fun days.

Eso es, me voy 3 dias a Aviles, al salón del cómic, y al hotel donde se alojan los autores invitados. No estoy oficialmente invitado, pero Jorge Ivan, el organizador del Salon ha tenido el gran gesto de encontrarnos esas habitaciones, asi que por esa parte, fenomenal.
Tambien estaremos en el rodaje de un nuevo episodio del Capitan Galaxia, asi que se que tendremos unos dias cojonudos.

First of all, its not anything close to be sure, but I could be working on a comic book for a big US comic book company that could be released next year. I can't say where or how, and everything can change. Right now, there is a chance that they want me for the job. A superheroes comic book for the USA. Even if it not happens now, they got my name as a strong candidate for it, and that makes me proud. Hell, I'm happy. I promise updates soon!

Primero de todo, no es seguro, pero podría empezar a trabajar pronto en un comic que saldría en 2010 para una de las grandes editoriales americanas. No puedo decir aun para quien ni como, y todo podría cambiar. Ahora mismo hay posibilidades de que sea yo el que lo haga. Un cómic de superhéroes para los EEUU. Incluso si no pasa, mi nombre ha sido uno de los candidatos con posibilidades en el proyecto, y eso me hace sentir orgulloso. Joer, estoy contento! Prometo más noticias pronto!
